Vegan • Nut Free• Soy Free• Gluten Free Candlelight Dinner for Two curated by yours truly… Now look, I would be telling a tale if I was to say I wasn’t nervous when I got this request. My client for the evening chose one of my most soulfully rich menu items and I had to make it in a way where it was still very true to flavor, texture, appearance, and allergy safe. Let’s just say they created a different type of problem.. I knew I was bad before but Dayuuuummmm I did that and you can’t tell me nothing.…
I am experimenting with different meatless vegetarian products and have found a few that actually are tasty, reasonably priced, and worth buying again. I review the Smart Dogs veggie hot dogs and the even better Butler soy Curls. I will be posting a recipe for my grilled Spring Rolls made with marinated Soy Curls later on. If you are interested in buying the veggie Smart Dogs, I got mine at Walmart but I think they are also at trader Joes. The Butler Soy Curls are cheaper at amazon if you only want to buy a bag to try them out,…
Another new-to-me product! Vegan beef jerky made from Butler Soy Curls! I picked these up at Good Rebel Vegan Provisions in Toronto @ 1591 Dundas Street West. source
Try this new tofu steak recipe with tamarind and soy milk sauce. It is really good and delicious! The coconut milk in can here where I live is so expensive, so I tried to find an alternative since soy milk is common and the cheapest here I used it for this dish instead of coconut milk! It turned out delicious and so it’s a success! This is a simple, warming, one-pot veggie white bean stew that is perfect for dinner on a chilly evening. It’s packed with veggies and beans and browned mushroom and has an absolutely amazing flavor! Nut-free. Options for gluten-free, soy-free The secret to this veggie bean stew’s flavor is in the mushrooms. I sauté some mushrooms beforehand, and then set them aside, adding them into the stew at the end of cooking. This helps the mushrooms keep that nice, roasted flavor, which adds so much umami to this stew! If you boil the mushrooms in the stew, the texture kind of…

I was just in Buffalo and found two new non-dairy yogurts! I was excited to try the Kite Hill, as I’ve heard great things about the brand. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find Stonyfield’s soy yogurt because they’re only $1 each. How do they taste? Here’s my review! source
