Looking for a soy free tofu? This vegan chana Dal Tofu is an easy homemade tofu recipe to make which is a healthy and delicious source of protein. This chana dal Tofu is an excellent gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free tofu substitute. It is a delightful and versatile alternative to traditional soy tofu, perfect for those with soy allergies or anyone looking to add variety to their meals. Once prepared you can store it in fridge for upto 5 days and use it in multiple dishes like salads, soups, Buddha bowls, wraps, Pulao etc.

Ingredients:

For Homemade Chana dal tofu :

Chana dal 1/4 Cup
Water 2.5 Cups or as required
Salt to taste

Directions for making Chana Dal Tofu:

Rinse & Soak chana dal for minimum 6 hours to overnight

Remove water & add to blender with fresh water

Blend to make a smooth paste

In a pan heat 2 cups water with little salt

Once water starts to boil add chana dal paste

Stir constantly to avoid sticking to bottom

Mixture with thicken soon, keep stirring

Cook on low heat for 7-8 minutes

Let it cool slightly, transfer to a container

Keep in fridge for few hours

Once set, remove from container

Cut into small cubes, store In chiller for upto 5 days

Before adding to your recipes, roast it in pan, oven or air fryer with little oil or ghee until crisp.
