Because so many pre-made spice mixes have soy in them, I like to mix up my own. This taco seasoning is delicious and a bit on the spicy side. I use this seasoning on beef for beef tacos, on chicken for quesadillas, and in a chicken tortilla soup that my family loves.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Tips
- I like to double this recipe and store it in a jar so that it is ready when I need it.
- Use more or less of this seasoning in recipes, depending on how much flavour you want.
- This taco seasoning is quite spicy. If you prefer a milder version, you can cut back on the chili powder when mixing the spices.
- This seasoning can be used in any dish that requires taco seasoning – tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, soups, etc.
