Follow along for a step-by-step guide on creating tender, juicy vegan ribs and pair them with sides like vegan mac and cheese, collard greens, and BBQ beans. This recipe is beginner-friendly and a great way to enjoy a healthy, plant-based BBQ.
βοΈ Vegan Ribs
In a food processor, chop the following ingredients:
16 oz. of young jackfruit
2 portobello mushrooms
4 plant-based sausages
Once you have chopped these ingredients, add them to a large mixing bowl.
Add 1/3 cup of chia seeds into a coffee grinder and finely grind the seeds
Mix the ground chia seeds with 1/4 cup of spring water until you have a thick jelly-like texture
Add this mixture into the large bowl with the chopped jackfruit, sausages, and portobello mushrooms
Combine the following ingredients in the same large mixing bowl:

Sea Salt
Pepper
1/2 cup of white spelt flour
2 tbsp of BBQ sauce
1 tbsp of mustard
Mix all these ingredients well and form a rectangle about 2 inches in height.
Using a knife, lightly press into your vegan rib meat and design lines for style.
Spray with avocado cooking oil
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 35 minutes
After 35 minutes, glaze with BBQ sauce and return the vegan ribs to the oven for 25 minutes.
Remove the ribs from the oven and cut them into rib-shaped strips
Add to your grill and cook until you have grill marks (this is going to enhance the flavor and give you that BBQ taste)
Remove from grill and glaze with BBQ sauce before serving
βοΈ GREENS
Chop the following ingredients and add them into a pot with a little avocado oil:
2 bunches of collard greens
Half brown onion
Half green bell pepper
1 Turnip (remove the skin)
1/2 cup of young jackfruit

Fill your pot with about 10 cups of spring water
Cook with the lid on for 30-40 minutes
